I recently graduated from the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. For the last four years, I embarked on two very different but strikingly similar paths: magazine journalism and public relations. Since starting college, I saw a number of newspapers dwindle and the number of citizen journalists and their subsequent blogs skyrocket. I can only imagine the changes I will see during my post-college era. One of my goals as a journalist and public relations practitioner is to not only become accustomed to the changing and developing journalistic climate but to also learn about and prepare for the evolution of media.
As for the next four years of my life, I hope to take my life experience and skills to the next level. Fellow students and graduates, I invite you to join me on the journey to a new age of communication.
